Following the success of my first Budokon Yoga workshop at Yoga Mayu last month, I'm thrilled to announce a second workshop with them. Hope you can join me!
Budokon & The Art of Transition: A Summer Solstice Workshop with Kimberly Hu
Date: Saturday, June 22nd 2013 from 2-4pm
Venue: Yoga Mayu, 2051 Harrison Street, San Francisco, CA 94110
Celebrate the summer solstice and unleash your inner warrior at this workshop, where you'll explore Budokon Yoga signature asana and mixed martial arts techniques, focusing on cultivating body awareness and integration through transitions between postures. As much of any flowing style yoga practice is spent moving from one posture to another, this workshop will address specifically these in-between stages: entering and existing a posture with so much mindfulness and precision that the technique becomes the transition itself.
The Budokon Yoga system is based largely on intelligent sequencing and a series of transitions incorporating circular movement and spinal undulation in between postures. Creating these connections through alignment, intention, breath and power are essential to move with fluidity and grace both on the yoga mat and off in one's daily life. Through experimentation with Budokon techniques and the art of transition, come and discover the beauty of being fully present in your journey and take your practice to a new place.
This workshop is suitable for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of their yoga practice and the art of transitional movement. Warriors of all levels welcome, no previous Budokon experience necessary!
